IDX to feature Play Out innovation at BVE 2010

IDX will be demonstrating the new PlayMagic™ MFP-100 multi-format play out server for the first time during BVE 2010.  The new server features a dedicated Solid State Drive, delivering ultra-fast playback of HD-SDI / SD-SDI video, multiple GB per second performance and much faster access times than traditional HDD storage.  The MFP-100 is compatible with popular file formats and supports MXF OP-1a (SMPTE 337M, 378M compatible) MPEG-2, QuickTime file format and DVCPRO HD.  Visit the IDX booth F20 to find out more.

The full range of IDX professional Lithium Ion battery packs, muti-channel chargers, wireless HD-Video links and power accessories will be on display, including many brand new power accessories for 2010:

A-E241E dual V-Mount battery plate will allow any two IDX ENDURA batteries to be connected side-by-side for attachment to the camera.  The new plate draws power from each battery in parallel to effectively double the capacity and provide significantly longer run times for power hungry High Definition ENG cameras.

EB-424L is a portable power base station for both ENG and CINE-style cameras.  The EB-424L can support up to eight IDX ENDURA batteries connected in PowerLink, harnessing the power of Li-ion to provide over 700Wh.  The unit features a 4-pin XLR connection for 12V output and 8-pin LEMO connection for a regulated 24V output. 

RED ONE™ Power Packages are now available, a combination of the custom designed EL-BAPIDX-A plate and the 136Wh ENDURA ELITE battery.  RED operators can now power their camera using the ELITE and take full advantage of battery capacity data shown in the viewfinder.  The ELITE’s dual 68Wh power cartridges can be removed from the housing to comply with air transportation regulations, allowing multiple cartridges to be packed in carry-on luggage for safe travel to location.  Two packages are available, each incorporating ELITE batteries and a 2-channel or 4-channel simultaneous charger.
