IDX for Hire at Visual Impact Bristol

The hire department of Visual Impact Bristol, specialists in dry hire of broadcast, film and post production equipment, are planning to upgrade their V-Mount battery and charger system hire fleet to the IDX E-HL9 battery and VL-4S charger.  Following a successful 6 month evaluation, Visual Impact aim to replace their entire hire fleet with the IDX ENDURA system over the next 18 months to keep up with growing demand for camera hire services at their South West branch.

Visual Impact Bristol have an extensive hire stock of the latest high powered HD camcorders which include the Panasonic AJ-HPX2700, Sony F3, PDW-F800 and PMW-500 as well as a large range of accessory equipment.  With a battery/charger system sent out with each camera hire package, the E-HL9 was specifically chosen for its reliability, high capacity, long life cycle, ability to PowerLink and robust high draw cell that can sustain a continuous 10A load up to 120W.  In addition to the camera, any other piece of equipment that needs battery power such as the lens, follow focus, on-board light or wireless link all add to load placed on the battery.  The E-HL9 can be used in PowerLink - the unique ability to ‘piggyback’ two batteries - to double the available capacity to 176Wh, an invaluable tool on location to power the camera for long periods of time or hot-swap a battery at any time.  As well as handling the extra power, the E-HL9 will automatically cut-off at 11V to stop the battery being over-discharged, protecting the cells from damage and maximising the performance and life-span of the battery.  The VL-4S simultaneous 4-channel charger complements the E-HL9 with a robust moulded polycarbonate enclosure making it ideal for heavy-duty assignments where a safe and fast turnaround of batteries is essential.  The VL-4S will re-charge 4 x E-HL9 batteries in approximately 3 ½ hours.

The E-HL9 and VL-4S are comfortably able to withstand the daily rigours of high end broadcast, film and production applications and meet Visual Impact’s high standards for supplying reliable and modern equipment.
